amy Ashcraft

Amy Ashcraft is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) from Searcy, Arkansas where she lives with her husband and daughters. Originally from Manchester, N.H., she moved to Arkansas to attend Harding University.  Graduating with her BSW in 2001, she returned to NH briefly working as a dispatcher for a local Police Department.  This brief experience with emergency dispatching sharpened her assessment skills for future crisis work. Returning to Arkansas, Ms. Ashcraft furthered her education by attending the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and graduated with her MSW in 2009.  Through her over 20 years in the Social Work profession, she has worked in various roles including mental health, hospice/palliative care, oncology, primary care, and contracted work with the Department of Human Services conducting home studies for foster and kin care. Most recently, she has implemented an Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program and has found a passion in the areas of program development and transforming research into practice. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Social Work teaching both BSW and MSW students. She is currently attending Walden University in pursuit of her Ph.D. in Social Work with a concentration in Criminal Justice. Her research focus is on the area of Human Trafficking identification and prevention measures.
